The Region

La Mancha, an immense region that occupies the southern half of the central plateau of Spain, owns an ideal continental climate for viticulture. With more than 600,000 hectares of vineyards, it is one of the largest wine regions both in Spain and also in Europe.

Altosa Tomelloso

Tomelloso, the wine capital of this region is well known due to its excellent wines; its economic development started in the nineteenth century thanks to a growing demand for Brandy de Jerez. Close trade links between these two cities were quickly established and, currently, Tomelloso is one of the largest concentrations of wine alcohol production in the world.
